Abstract

A long term dataset of volatile organic carbons (VOCs) measured by a thermal desorption unit coupled to a gas chromatograph fitted with two flame ionisation detectors at the Manchester Air Quality Supersite from 2022 onwards, for the Integrated Research Observation System for Clean Air (OSCA) project.

Data lineage:

Data is transferred directly from the instrument to the computer database, before being transferred to the general database, where it is processed, and flagged where data is suspect. Once complete, data are uploaded to CEDA for archiving.

Data Quality:
QA / QC done as part of processing routine and flagged accordingly. Instrument checks performed weekly. Data is c alibrated to the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) scale for VOCs through traceable gas standards. The instrument is calibrated at least monthly
