Abstract

This computation involved: GISS-ModelE/Russell Coupled Atmosphere Ocean Model deployed on NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) (USA) computer. The Goddard Institute of Space Studies ModelE/Russell model is run as a fully coupled ocean-atmosphere climate model.

The Goddard Institute of Space Studies ModelE/Russell model is run as a fully coupled ocean-atmosphere climate model.
The model explores how changes in the levels and locations of ozone precursor emissions, (such as nitrogen oxides NO and NO; referred to as NO, carbon monoxide (CO) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including methane, could affect tropospheric ozone abundances, from the pre-industrial period to future projections.

The climate modeling program at NASA GISS is primarily aimed at the development of three-dimensional general circulation models (GCMs) and coupled atmosphere-ocean models for simulating Earth's climate system.
