Abstract

The C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) flown on the Sentinel 1 series of satellites is an instrument providing high resolution all-weather day and night radar coverage of the Earth's surface.
Sentinel 1A was launched on 3rd April 2014 and Sentinel 1B was launched on 25th April 2016. This instrument has four acquisition modes; Stripmap (SM), Interferometric Wide Swath (IW), Extra Wide Swath (EW), and Wave (WV).
