South Uist (WMO id 03023) is home to the Met Office 64MHz windprofiler. The station is located 4m above mean sea level in the Hebrides, Western Isles of Scotland. Since 1996 meteorological observations have been recorded on a 24hr basis, linking the station to the synoptic network of the Met Office Meteorological Service.
