The St Helena observatory (WMO id 61901) is located at Bottoms Wood, St Helena, 435m above mean sea level in the South Atlantic ocean. Since 1958 meteorological observations have been recorded on a 24hr basis, linking the station to the synoptic network of the Met Office Meteorological Service.
