Abstract
In-situ airborne observations by the FAAM BAE-146 aircraft for Arctic Cold Air Outbreak Project (ACAO). The ACAO campaign took place in March 2022 based out of Kiruna in Sweden and included flights C271 to C282 inclusive.
The campaign by scientists from the Met Office and Universities of Manchester and Leeds was to make novel in-situ airborne measurements of the evolution of cold-air outbreaks (CAOs), in terms of the meteorology, atmospheric composition and clouds, from the Marginal Ice Zone (MIZ) to Scandinavia.
