Along Track Scanning Radiometer 2 (ATSR-2)
Abstract
An enhanced version of ATSR (Along Track Scanning Radiometer), ATSR-2, was successfully launched on board the European Space Agency (ESA) ERS-2 (European Remote Sensing - 2) spacecraft on 21st April 1995. ATSR-2 is equipped with additional visible channels for vegetation monitoring. It measures sea surface temperatures and the vegetation cover of land surfaces.
