Abstract

This dataset contains horizontal optical range and present weather codes at Summit Station, Greenland. Measurements were made using Biral SWS-100 visibility and present weather sensor.

These data were collected as part of the joint Natural Environmental Research Council (NERC) and US National Science Foundation (NSF) -funded Integrated Characterisation of Energy, Clouds, Atmospheric state, and Precipitation at Summit - Aerosol Cloud Experiment (ICECAPS-ACE) project.

These data were continued through the 3 year extension to the ICECAPS-ACE project called ICECAPS-MELT.

For these observations hood and window heaters were on continuously and the sensor receiver head was oriented due North.
