Abstract
This dataset contains meteorological observations rescued by different phases of the Weather Rescue project. They include a range of observations from various sites, some hourly, some daily.
The collection contains images of manuscripts as well as keyed data from Ben Nevis and in the town of Fort William between 1883 and 1904, and observations from the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe recorded in the Met Office's Daily Weather Report from 1900-1910. Along with the scanned manuscripts these data cover the period 1760 to 1975.
Variables available include: atmospheric pressure, temperature, wind speed and rainfall.
The scanned manuscripts are from 6 Scottish sites, the Leeds Philosophical Society and the Devon and Exeter Institute.
