ESA Ozone Climate Change Initiative (Ozone_cci): Level 3 Total Ozone Merged Data Product, v0200
Abstract
This dataset is a monthly mean gridded (level 3) total ozone data record produced by the ESA Ozone Climate Change Initiative project (Ozone_cci).
The data record covers the period between July 1995 and December 2020 and provides global coverage (except for the polar night) at a spatial resolution of 1°x1°. It is a merged data record combining harmonized data from the Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME) onboard the second European Remote Sensing satellite (ERS-2), the Scanning Imaging Absorption Spectrometer for Atmospheric Chartography (SCIAMACHY) onboard the Environmental Satellite (ENVISAT), the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) onboard Aura, the GOME-2 instruments onboard the Meteorological Operational (MetOp) satellites A and B, and the Tropospheric Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI) onboard the Seninel-5 Precursor (S5-P) satellite. The data record is suitable for applications such as the investigation of the long-term evolution of the atmospheric ozone layer or the evaluation of model simulations.
