Abstract
The Global Ozone Monitoring by Occultation of Stars (GOMOS) instrument is one of the ten instruments onboard the Envisat satellite launched from Kourou (French Guyana) on the 28th of February 2002 and operated by the European Space Agency (ESA). Its main objective is to provide highly accurate profiles of stratospheric ozone, but it also supplies profiles of NO2, NO3, H2O and temperature.
