OZONESAT Station Network
Abstract
Observation stations within the OZONESAT station network transmit their observations in the form of an OZONESAT message. Around 2400 global daily observations are taken by satellites, and the results are transmitted in the OZONESAT message. The OZONESAT message contains measurements of atmospheric profiles of ozone concentrations.

Transmission of OZONESAT messages
The OZONESAT network uses data from satellites to probe the atmosphere and measure parameters such as ozone content, and ozone partial pressure. The measurements are then sent to the fixed land observing station and used to deduce the relevant parameters, which are then transmitted in the OZONESAT message. Satellite data is received daily and cumulates in around 2400 observations per day. Ingest scripts run at the BADC every 20 minutes, converting the incoming files to the self describing BADC-CSV format, but neither the processed or raw data are placed into archive until the following day. The relevant parameters are stored in the MetDB dataset on the BADC website.
