Dataset
Solar-induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence from GOSAT's TANSO-FTS by the University of Leicester (v4.0)
Abstract
Solar-induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence (SIF) data created from the Greenhouse Gas Observing Satellite (GOSAT) Level 1B data using the University of Leicester Full-Physics retrieval scheme (UoL-FP). Dataset contains Level 2 and Level 3 SIF products, using combinations of S and P polarisations, exhibiting variable global coverage for the period between April 2009 and July 2025. Level 2 data are in daily files and are not averaged. Level 3 data are averaged spatially and temporally on monthly and weekly timescales.
The SIF data was derived from L1B data from the TANSO-FTS (Thermal and Near Infrared Sensor for carbon Observation - Fourier Transform Spectrometer) instrument on the GOSAT satellite. SIF at top of atmosphere has been extracted from two narrow micro-windows outside the Oxygen A-band, at around 755 nm and 772 nm.
