Abstract
The Multispectral Scanner is one of the Earth observing sensors introduced in the Landsat program. A Multispectral Scanner (MSS) was placed aboard each of the first five Landsat satellites. The MSS' on Landsat 4 and 5 were capable of detecting radiation in 5 bands between 0.5 and 1.1µm as opposed to 4 on Landsat 1, 2 and 3.
