Abstract
We use the atmosphere-ocean coupled configuration of the Hadley Centre Global Environment
Model version 3 (HadGEM3-AO) from the United Kingdom Met Office (Hewitt et al., 2011). Atmospheric chemistry is represented by the United Kingdom Chemistry and Aerosols
(UKCA) model in an updated version of the detailed stratospheric chemistry configuration
(Morgenstern et al., 2009; Nowack et al., 2015, 2016, 2017) which is coupled to the MetUM.
