ACITES: Land cover data for the Olson and Global Land Cover Facility data sets
Abstract
Model grid cell areas and land cover data for the Olson and Global Land Cover Facility. Data are regridded to a consistent 3 x 3 degree resolution and saved in NetCDF format.
The Olson land cover dataset was developed from Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) composites covering 1992-1993.
The Global Land Cover Facility dataset was developed from monthly satellite sensor data of NDVI values for 1987.
