Cole Peninsula was the site of a British Antarctic Survey (BAS) Automatic Weather Station (AWS) during the NERC OFCAP (Orographic Flows and the Climate of the Antarctic Peninsula) project.
The site is situated at 66.86 deg S, 63.81 deg W, 424m above sea level. Data was logged every 10secs and accumulated into 10min averages.
Instruments were mounted on a 5m pole, of which the bottom ~1m was buried in snow.
Initial height above snow surface of Vaisala Humicap HMP45D (temperature and relative humidity measurements, with radiation shield) was ~3.5m
RM Young propvane measuring wind speed and direction was initially at ~4m above snow surface.
Air pressure was measured by a mem pressure sensor in a back-up logger box buried at the foot of the AWS in about 0.5m snow.
