Individual cloud layers identified over nearly 5 years of data (July 2006–April 2011) from two A-Train satellites, CloudSat and the Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations (CALIPSO) were collected and Simple Convective Aggregation Index was applied.
